Lodewijk Petram

Lodewijk Petram studied economics and history at the University of Amsterdam, where he gained his doctorate in 2011 with a thesis on the stock market in seventeenth-century Amsterdam.

The World’s First Stock Exchange won him the 2012 Dirk Jacob Veegens Prize from the Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities. Petram writes for a variety of media. He also organizes city walks through Amsterdam’s financial centre.
