Translations grants fiction
Victor Schiferli (1967) specializes in Dutch fiction, recommending books to German-, English- and Scandinavian-language publishers, and in Dutch and Frisian poetry.
Schiferli studied at the University of Amsterdam and worked previously as an advisor at the NLPVF (1992-2001) and an editor at De Bezige Bij (2001-2007). Before re-joining the foundation in 2011, he worked as a freelancer, writing for newspapers and magazines, compiling anthologies and editing the literary journal Bunker Hill. He made his debut as a poet in 2000 with At an Open Window, followed in 2005 by Disappeared Waiters and in 2008 by Speech in a Bush. In 2012 he published his first novel, Dreams of Schalkwijk.
