Who is eligible?

The theatre author must be professionally active and embedded in the Dutch performing arts sector. Applicants must have experience in writing literary works. Collaboration with a producer who can provide a platform for performance is strongly encouraged.

Applications are not accepted from authors who are currently enrolled in an arts degree programme, at either bachelor’s or master’s level. Applications may, however, be submitted during a postdoctoral appointment.

The amount awarded depends on the scope of the work. In addition to the grant, a fixed contribution of €1,500 is provided for a public presentation intended to bring the text to the attention of producers, theatre companies, festival and venue programmers, and audiences, with the aim of securing a production.
