Applications are assessed on the literary quality of the source text, the quality of the translation and the quality of the promotional plan. Consideration is also given to the extent to which the publication addresses a gap in the existing literary offering. Please consult the scheme for the full list of criteria. Incomplete applications will not be taken into consideration. The same applies to applications for publications that have already been published or that are scheduled for publication within three months of submission.
Schwob
Under the Schwob scheme, publishers may apply for funding for modern, forgotten classics, cult books and significant works of world literature that are not (or no longer) available in translation in the Netherlands. Under the same name, ILFU brings a selection of these twentieth-century forgotten classics to the attention of readers. For more information, please visit ilfu.nl.
