10 Books from Holland and Flanders (Autumn 2011)

The selected titles are ten remarkable new works of fiction that have made an impact on the literary landscape of Holland and Flanders this year. They include A.F.Th. van der Heijden’s much-discussed and moving novel about the death of his son, poet Erik Menkveld’s debut novel about the friendship and rivalry of two composers at the beginning of the 20th century, and a thrilling novel by actor and writer Rik Launspach that is set partly in contemporary Afghanistan. We have also focused on outstanding new work from talented Dutch writers Robbert Welagen, Annegine Goemans, Jan van Mersbergen, Toine Heijmans and, from Flanders, Dimitri Verhulst, Yves Petry and Stefan Brijs, each selected for their striking and distinctive themes.

10 Books from Holland is distributed free of charge to foreign publishers and editors. Please contact us if you would like to be included on our mailing list.
