From the end of August, the director of the Dutch Foundation for Literature, Pieter Steinz, will delegate some of his tasks to his deputy Tiziano Perez.
Steinz, who has been troubled by voice and throat problems over the past six months, was told this summer that he is suffering from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Because of the incurable and progressive nature of this illness, Steinz will delegate a number of tasks to Tiziano Perez over the coming months, including certain responsibilities for the external representation of the Foundation. Perez has acted as interim director of the Foundation before, from November 2011 to March 2012.
