Wytske Versteeg will travel to Italy to present the Italian translation of Boy at the Turin International Book Fair. After that, she will participate in the programme Publishers Without Borders, an event organised by independent booksellers in Turin and the Piedmont Region.
Third stop of the tour is the participation in an event in the territory of the publishing house, together with other European writers, in order to promote the circulation of European culture, organized by the Reception Agency and Local Tourist Promotion of the Province of Alessandria and the Sistema Monferrato Consortium.
Wytske Versteeg (1983) is a political scientist. In the spring of 2012 she made a successful debut as a novelist with De wezenlozen (Weightless), which was nominated for the Opzij Literature Prize 2013 and long-listed for the AKO Literature Prize. In 2008 she published the non-fiction book Dit is geen dakloze (This Is Not a Homeless Person) based on her experiences as a volunteer, mixing philosophical literature with journalistic observations and personal accounts of homelessness. The book was nominated for the Jan Hanlo Essay Prize. In 2014, her second novel Boy was awarded the BNG Literature Prize.
