On Saturday 13 October the twenty-first edition of the GDMW Festival will take place at various locations around the Deliplein in Rotterdam. The festival offers a full programme in the evening around the written, spoken and sung word, in which young talent from literature, spoken word and music is brought into the limelight.

This year’s programme includes Marjolijn van Heemstra, Marieke Lucas Rijneveld, Nina Polak and Write Now! Winner Anne Giesen, among others. They will read from their work and participate in interviews. There will be poetry from the recently debuted poets Radna Fabias (winner of the C. Buddingh’ Prize 2018 for Habitus) and Simone Atangana Bekono (one of the talents who participated in the Slow Writing Lab). Rotterdam’s own spoken word artist M. will perform both solo and with pianist Mink Steekelenburg from music collective Winterdagen.

f.l.t.r.: Simone Atangana Bekono, Radna Fabias, M.
