From Friday 24th until Monday 27th of March Livre Paris, the most important French book fair will be held in Porte de Versailles. The Dutch Foundation for Literature will be present with a stand (G81). At the stand there will be meetings with publishers. There will be special attention for illustrated literature.
Following the success at the Buchmesse in Frankfurt, seven Dutch and Flemish illustrators will work in La Parade Néerlandaise. They’ll be making new covers for famous French and Dutch classics. These covers will be printed and handed out on the spot. The participating illustrators are Anne Staal, Charlotte Dumortier, Wasco, Jeroen Funke, Leendert van Duivenbode, Hanco Kolk and Brecht Evens.
In addition to the stand a few literary programms are organised in collaboration with the Dutch embassy: a discussion with the publishers of De Eenhoorn and Querido about recent developments in Children’s Books (Café Pro, stand BIEF, U18 from 14.30-15.30), and a Rencontre Litéraire with Toine Heijmans, Dimitri Verhulst, Nina Weijers, Maylis de Kerangal and Florence Noiville at the Residency of the Dutch Ambassador.
