Great events cast their shadow before, even on other continents. On the 22nd of September a presentation will be given on the upcoming the Netherlands and Flanders Guest of Honour-programme at the Frankfurter Buchmesse. The evening will be held at Flanders House, situated in the New York Times building and belonging to the representatives of the Flemish government in the United States.
Michiel Scharpé of the Flemish Literature Fund and Victor Schiferli of the Dutch Foundation for Literature will outline the joint Guest of Honour presentation - which includes 70 authors from Flanders and the Netherlands - at the biggest International Book Fair in the world. Riky Stock of the German Book Office and the consular representatives of the Netherlands and Flanders will also take the floor.
Furthermore, Scharpé and Schiferli will use their time in New York to visit several publishers and editors.
