Henkjan Honing

Henkjan Honing (b. 1959) is a professor of Musical Cognition at the University of Amsterdam. He is known as a passionate researcher within this new interdisciplinary field, which offers fundamental insights into the cognitive mechanisms underlying musicality. Having become fascinated in recent years with music’s biological basis, he began collaborating with neurobiologists, neuroscientists and behavioural biologists. Among the other titles he’s written, Musical Cognition was published in 2012.
