Erik Kriek

Erik Kriek (b. Amsterdam, 1966) is an illustrator and comic book artist. His illustrations have been published in The Boston Globe, Weltwoche, de Volkskrant, NRC Handelsblad, Vrij Nederland, Het Parool and the VPRO Gids. He is also a designer of record albums, posters and skate- boards. In 2008 he won the Stripschapprijs, the Netherlands’ most prestigious award for cartoonists. His rendition of the stories of H.P. Lovecraft, The Unseeable and Other Stories, came out in the Netherlands in 2012 and has since been translated into Spanish, French, Italian, German, Serbian and Swedish.

The subject matter and narrative voice mesh seamlessly, emulating the greats— Johnny Cash, Steve Earle, and others.
