Pieter Steinz (b. 1963) studied History as well as English Language and Literature at the University of Amsterdam and at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, USA. After working for several years at the History faculty of the UvA, he joined NRC Handelsblad in late 1989, where he worked as an editor in the field of art and books, and as manager of a number of editorial teams. Pieter Steinz started in the position of director of the Dutch Foundation for Literature on Monday March 5th, 2012.
