This year Amsterdam is city of honour at the Buenos Aires International Book Fair (Feria Internacional del Libro de Buenos Aires). Nine Dutch authors will read at the book fair: Cees Nooteboom (poetry, fiction and travel literature), Arnon Grunberg (fiction), Anne Vegter (poetry en children’s books), Wouter van Reek (children’s books), Carolina Trujillo (fiction), Jan van Mersbergen (fiction), Herman Koch (fiction), Gerbrand Bakker (fiction) en Maarten Asscher (fiction, poetry en non-fiction).

Beijing International Bookfair 2011

This year, the Netherlands is to be the country of honour at the Beijing International Bookfair, one of the largest book fairs in the world. At the 1,500m2 Dutch stand and other locations in the city, a programme will be featured in which over 20 accompanying authors, musicians, illustrators and designers will be taking part. New translations of works into Chinese will be available for all the Dutch authors present. A complete overview is to be found at the Chinese-English website set up by the Dutch Foundation for Literature for this large-scale presentation of Dutch culture.
