The Els Otten Übersetzerpreis will be presented to Bettina Bach and Rainer Kersten on Tuesday the 3rd of January. The award is a joint initiative of both the Dutch and Flemish foundation of Literature and is presented to the best recent German translation of a Dutch work.
Bach receives the award for her translation of Arjan Visser’s Hotel Linda (Der blaue Vogel kehrt zurück) and Rainer Kersten is given the award for his translation of De laatkomer (Der Bibliothekar, der lieber dement war als zu Hause bei seiner Frau) by Dimitri Verhulst.
