From 2 to 6 December, Joris Luyendijk will be in Mexico where he will participate in the Guadelajara International Book Fair (FIL).
He will participate in the programmes Echoes of FIL and the European Literature Festival. Echoes of FIL is a programme dedicated to promote reading among teens between 14 and 19 years old. Joris Luyendijk will visit a high school to meet a group of students to talk about his work. The European Literature Festival is a programme organized in cooperation with the European Union Delegation in México and the embassies of the member countries. European authors from different literary genres will share insights, opinions and experiences about their work with each other and the audience.
Two of Luyendijk's books have been translated into Spanish. Dit kan niet waar zijn (Swimming with sharks. My journey into the world of the bankers) has been translated by Mario Santana and published as Entre tiburones. Una temporada en el infierno de las finanzas by El Hombre del Tr3s/Malpaso Ediciones in 2016. Het zijn net mensen (People Like Us. Misrepresenting the Middle East) was published as Hello Everybody. Imágenes de Oriente Medio by Ediciones Península in 2013.
