Les Phares du Nord - the sequel
The Les Phares du Nord campaign presents literature from the Netherlands and Flanders in France—the second book market in Europe and the fifth book market in the world. This intensive campaign brought 100 Dutch and Flemish authors to around 20 French literary festivals, fairs and other stages in 2018.
In 2019, a few dozen Dutch authors in all genres are invited by fifteen literary festivals in France. In June, the Netherlands is guest of honour at the largest poetry festival in France, the Marché de la Poésie, and the grand finale of the campaign will be in November when the Netherlands is guest of honour at the Littératures Européennes festival in Cognac.
